I've been off-line (barring iPhone, including "Win-Win" post) for erm...Well, from when I got home the 23rd (nieces were here), then overnight (nieces stayed), Christmas Eve was busy-busy (kept nieces on task whilst hovering to gently correct and encourage their food prep skillz) until their parents arrived and then it was party time. Yes, I gave them sharp utensils and nearly gave myself a heart attack.
"Be so very careful, fingers and thumbs back. Your ma'll scalp me alive if you hurt yourself."
Christmas, I felt completely raked over the coals more than a few times and just did a bit of cleaning. Did I mention I threw out my back on Christmas Eve? Too much work to do and too many babies to carry! -babies are getting rather big
So, I'm just NOW (skipped Friday because I was mostly in bed!) getting up and moving because I've guests coming this afternoon YAY.
BTW, at the office luncheon, I had a few and who chose to sit at my table but the owner of the company and his father. I'm sure I dropped lots of f-bombs because I do that in everyday life but I'm just hoping I didn't call anybody an ahole :) The funniest part is at one point, I recall the owner saying, "I didn't know this side of you" to which I replied, "I'm an open book."
The whole thing seemed hilarious to me -which is always a bad sign and that includes knowing I was tipsy and out of control. -not that I often try to exercise much, anyway
My friends came in for the small Yule party and started eating and didn't stop for 2.5 hours. I mean serious shoving-food-in-face so, I know they liked my stuff! Later, I brought out the summer sausage and cheese and they didn't take any. I know they had to be full. That was a lot of food to eat. We played music about an hour and a half and then quickly played a little of the Rudolph Monopoly game. J gave me a Sopranos Trivia game (!)
It was a good gift. I loved that show but only watched it by renting DVDs (because I don't get no cable) until OtherJ recorded the entire last season on VHS and loaned them to me a couple of shows at a time. I loved it but I've already forgotten a bunch! It's kind of a funny layout. It's trivia cards, of course, but its "board" is a felt betting cloth and you get chips to bet with. When everyone is dealt their cards, you bet on yourself (or not) if you think you know the right answers and other people can bet against you if they think you'll not know.
Clearly the point would be to not say, "OH! I know this!" but to maintain a poker-face. : ) Hilarious since the boys in the Sopranos are always these high-stakes betting/ gamblers. I thought that was really funny! -- I mean the game having a betting cloth.
Anyhoozles. We had fun, I cleaned a lot of mess and stupid me vacuumed and mopped before they came here. I just wanted to do it - like normal on the weekend but later thought, "Oh, they'll make a mess" and WE did. So, now the floors need cleaning again.
It's done and I'm too f'ing cool for skool. As it's creative tinkering, destructions are over there.
As prep continues for our Christmas/ Whatever Winter Holiday/ Merry Ho-Ho Party, I've decorated (not exactly Laura Ashley; does saying that date me?) and cooked what everyone asks when invited to my party, "Are you making chili?"
Yup.

Before seeing this, I changed my banner to 1of3 niece with a uke on top of her head last Xmas. She was just too tired to play anymore and I walked into the living room and saw her crashed on the floor with it propped on her. Ain't that about the cutest? Of course MT gifted the uke to her!
