We've gots us a street called Leonore K. Sullivan Blvd. We used to call it "that road down by the river." I'm sure it had a proper name.

The next parallel street is "First" so, it couldn't have been "Zero," right?

Anyhoo, what's sad is nobody seems to know who the hell she was (deceased, 1988) and that's too damned bad. She was a busy woman and a bit of a looker if you can trust Mr. Fox's brush.

She was elected to Congress for twelve terms. Looks like she started out as many women of a certain age had to do: on her husband's coat-tails. So, rock on, dead chick! You began in the shadow of a man and ended up in the shadow of the Arch. Good on you, LKS.

Northern fence lizard

An adult female northern fence lizard has distinct, thin bars across its back. Male fence lizards do not have these markings.

Male northern fence lizard [show] blue color on the throat. This color is also found on the belly and is most prominent during the breeding season...

Average total length is 5 inches. They are grayish-brown with dark markings across the back and tail. This is a common forest-dwelling species that often lives around country homes and rock gardens. Their choice of split rail fences and stacks of firewood as places to live gave this species its name. They can escape capture by running up a tree.

During the breeding season male fence lizards have an iridescent blue and black belly.
